The Bottling Line Operator-Seasonal performs functions within a team to complete assigned bottling tasks on schedule. These functions may include: labeling, filling, packaging, cleaning, and other tasks assigned by the Packaging & Warehouse Manager or Supervisor.

This job is seasonal for up to 6 months. We are hiring part-time (less than 30 hours/week) and full-time (more than 30 hours/week) positions. The set schedule is Monday-Friday 4am-12pm. If you can work one day, two days, any days, we can work with your lifestyle! If you can work any times between 4am-12pm, we can work with your schedule! (For example: 4am-9am, 5am-10am, 8am-12pm, any hours between the timeframe of 4am-12pm).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Must be physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and standing for 8-hour or longer shifts
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Use hand cart or pallet jack to move drums of juice and pallets
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately for the duration of the shift
  • Team-oriented: communicate, cooperate, and assist other crew members
  • Maintain product quality standards by adhering to HACCP, cGMP, and QA guidelines
  • Work safely and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required

Perform tasks in the following routine rotations for assigned period:

Prep

  • Put empty bottles on the conveyor belt and ensure they are oriented in the proper direction and appropriately spaced apart

Filler

  • Safely operate bottle filling machine
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures during cold or hot fill

Cooling

  • Monitor fill levels and bottles for leaks
  • Place hot bottles in cooling system

Dryer

  • Dry bottles with towel and ensure bottles go into packaging as dry as possible

Packaging

  • Apply case stickers quickly and accurately
  • Assemble and pack boxes for finished product
  • Stack boxes on pallet in specified layout
  • Wrap finished pallets with stretch wrap

Labeling

  • Apply labels by hand to bottles in a precise and consistent manner
  • Operate automated labeling machine, possible exposure to hot glue

Cleaning

  • Disassemble parts and clean with chemicals, then reassemble parts
  • Perform other cleaning duties as assigned
  • Work safely with all necessary chemicals

Attendance:

  • Must be punctual, reliable, and work all scheduled shifts
  • Flexible to changing schedule needs and willing to work overtime

Miscellaneous:

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet the demand of frequently changing production pressures
  • Follow directions and perform all duties with a positive attitude
  • Strive to accomplish department goals
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by bottling and plant supervisors or management

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Work well in fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as with a team

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment – will involve walking or standing on uneven, oftentimes wet surfaces
  • Indoor/outdoor, wide range of temperatures
  • Work around loud equipment
  • The hours and days scheduled to work may change based on workload
  • Required to wear company provided apron or smock. Employee to provide and wear appropriate footwear (nonabsorbent, rubber boots)

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing or walking – 100% of time, may include lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to consistently move hands and arms quickly. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Able to reach, grasp, hold, handle items, and work with the fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders
  • Adequate hearing for working safely around machinery, forklifts, and other equipment
