The Production Supervisor supports the Production Manager in all issues related to juice production in an efficient and profitable manner. The Production Supervisor must be able to motivate a team of production workers to meet or exceed production goals. Troubleshoots production and quality issues. Communicates schedule, staffing requirements and raw material needs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. This position is also responsible to assist in promoting safety and following company SOPs and cGMPs.
Qualifications: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in manufacturing. Must demonstrate strong organization, prioritization, problem-solving and communication skills. Computer proficiency sufficient to compose and edit written communications, correspond via e-mail, enter/edit data into spreadsheets. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes is a plus. Complete required Hood River Juice Company training programs including GMP, HACCP, and others. Bilingual Spanish/English language preferred. Possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Supervise, motivate, and provide ongoing daily direction to Production Team including providing positive feedback and coaching to improve performance.
Assist Production Manager with training new employees in process and safety policies.
Ensures the team continuously operates according to all company policies and procedures including employee safety, GMP’s, SSOP’s, and HACCP.
Schedule team as appropriate to achieve production and labor goals including scheduling of breaks and lunches. Communicate schedule to team including any changes in a timely manner.
Diffuse situations through conflict resolution with individuals, as necessary.
Be aware of raw materials inventory as well as all inventory associated with meeting production schedule.
Anticipate issues that would negatively affect production and work with Production Manager to solve them.
Provide regular communication to Production Manager for efficient operations.
Troubleshoot problems to keep the operation running.
Participates in company development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
Ability to move a semi-truck or yard goat in the production yard.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Prioritize work and maintain high quality standards.
Obtain and maintain a HRJCO Forklift Driver’s certification.
Perform other tasks as requested by the Packaging and Warehouse Manager, Production Manager or Operations Manager.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing and warehouse environment – will involve walking or standing on uneven, oftentimes wet surfaces.
Working indoor/outdoor, wide range of temperatures.
Work around noisy machinery.
The hours and days scheduled to work may change based on workload and may include overtime.
Required to wear company provided uniform. Employee to provide and wear appropriate footwear (e.g., nonabsorbent, rubber boots).
Physical Requirements:
Standing or walking – 95% of time, may include lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to consistently move hands and arms quickly. Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Able to reach, grasp, hold, handle items, and work with the fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
Sitting at a workstation 5% of time.
Adequate hearing for working safely around machinery, forklifts, and other equipment.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
