The Human Resources Assistant/Recruiter is responsible for supporting Hood River Juice Company and Little King Transportation with human resources functions including administrative support and assisting with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding efforts for the company. The HR Assistant/Recruiter reports directly to the HR Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English required
- 1+ years of recruiting experience required
- 1+ years of Human Resources experience required
- Associate degree is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources highly desired
- Demonstrably excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks)
- High sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and work under deadline pressure
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and manages all candidate interview schedules and pre-interview assessments.
- Create competitive and attractive job postings.
- Posts and maintains job openings on the Hood River Juice Co. website and external job boards.
- Learn and understand the roles of each position within the company to provide accurate information to potential candidates.
- Conduct interviews with candidate and make hiring recommendation to hiring manager.
- Provide regular communication to Human Resource Manager as to progress of goals.
- Manage all background requests, drug testing, reports, and notifications.
- Facilitate new hire orientation and other training sessions with employees.
- Print, update, and distribute new hire employee packets and benefits packets at appropriate times (peak hiring season, Open Enrollment).
Other HR functions:
- Supports HR Department with administrative duties including employee training, and timekeeping/time management.
- Coordinates and assists with additional projects as assigned, including monthly benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment process.
- Oversee the Company Work Share program and other leave programs (FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon)
- Update and Maintain company HR records and employee files.
- Provide excellent customer service to company employees.
- Provide support to the HR Manager for employee relations issues (including documenting grievances).
Work Environment – office: 40 hours per week, 75% sitting and working at a computer/video display terminal and 25% standing/walking, to maintain files and collect paperwork. These hours and days may change based on workload and special events/meetings.
